Programs for Aspiring Olive Oil Professionals in Verona

Consider the international wine competition and exposition Vinitaly, which will take place from March 22 to March 25, as well as the concurrent Sol&Agrifood event, which will focus on extra virgin olive oil and other top-notch foods.

O'Live & Italy, an initiative to promote the use of extra virgin olive oil in the Garda Lake region, will host two courses the week before Vinitaly that will take participants to nearby farms where they may sample the oil firsthand from the producers, who will be Sol&Agrifood's exhibitors.

Dr. Marco Antonucci, Dr. Barbara Alfei, and Dr. Antonio Giuseppe Lauro will be in charge of leading a top-notch group of experts in the instruction of the courses. Dr. Barbara Alfei is a panel leader and expert taster of monovarietal extra virgin olive oils (writer and journalist in the EVOO sector).

Lauro is in charge of the six-day professional course that has been approved by the Region of Lombardy. The course, which runs from March 16 to 21, will enable participants to receive the Sensory Aptitude Certificate—required for listing on Italy's National List of Technicians and Olive Oil Expert Tasters—by passing the four taste examinations.

The International Master will run for five days, from March 16 to 20, and will be sponsored by ASSAM, the Marche region's agricultural services organization that is especially committed to safeguarding and developing monocultivar extra virgin olive oils.

The International Master is designed for students who desire to take a thorough course and leave with a richness of cultural understanding, life experience, and olive oil expertise.

More than 40 guided tastings of extra virgin olive oil from all over the world, four cultural dinners to explore possible food pairings with olive oil, and extensive educational materials that will be given to participants at the end of the experience are all part of the teaching plans in both cases. English and Italian will be the courses' official languages in both situations. The course's translation into many languages was facilitated via the educational portal LiveXP (link here - https://livexp.com/corporate-language-training).

The classes will be conducted at the Casa del Tempo Ritrovato, the association's headquarters, in Toscolano Maderno, a picturesque town on the western coast of Lake Garda. A tiny B&B and a private mill are located in a historic country property that has been refurbished. Participants in the course will be given lodgings there as well as at other neighboring inns.

The programs provide a unique chance to learn more about olive oil while traveling to a picturesque region in Northern Italy, attending Vinitaly, and participating in Sol&Agrifood.
